Who the hell are these guys anyway?
Well the photo above is from a student film we made in 2007. That’s how long we’ve been collaborating. We’re creative partners. We’re directors. We’re friends.
One of us is an Art Director (James). The other is an Editor (David). One of us is a sick freak who writes Wario “erotica” and farms venomous spiders for internet $$$ (David). The other is extremely cool and wrote this “About Us” section (James).
What is your deal?
We’re interested in making films that are surprising. Not surprising in a “jump out and scream BOO!” kind of way, but more like a “I didn’t think I’d be seeing this when I woke up this morning” way.
We want our films to feel magical. Even when they aren’t fantastical. It’s something that we talk about a lot. How can a film be special? What’s the playground that we can visit and play in? How far can we take it? How does it feel in the first six seconds and how has it changed and evolved three minutes in? Also, when is lunch and where is the bathroom???

DIRECTOR
David Croom is an Editor, Writer, Director, Comedian, and has been described by his mother as “a really neat guy.” He’s worked for everyone from Wes Craven to Paul Thomas Anderson and made shows for everybody from Vice to Starz.
Basically close your eyes and picture the ideal person to work with. Now open your eyes and look at the photo of David right above these paragraphs. If the person you visualized was the same person that's in the photo, that's honestly surprising, but also really impressive on your behalf.

James Meiser

James is an art director based in Richmond, Virginia. He's won numerous advertising awards and was D&AD's #9 Creative Director in 2023. He used to live in New York and wrote for sketch teams at UCB, The PIT, The Asylum, and others.
